And, you may join those who are already telling us of the benefits and hidden advantages gained from quickly applying simple strategies. Many of these stories are really heart-warming and touching, like the ones about people who have joined together to share the huge saving of the past special New Year's Brain Support™ sale. They made sure those people most precious to their hearts also enjoyed the guarantee of the benefits they found using the MEND Solutions™ "stay healthy" success advantage.

Quite simply it boils down to this:

Good health begins and ends with staying healthy. The victory of good health comes from discovering ways to stay healthy, using good health strategies, and never encountering the need for the diagnosis, treatment, cure and prevention of heart disease, dementia, depression, cancer, or (?).

We want to take this opportunity to share the latest stay healthy breakthroughs as you enter the New Year armed with your New Year's Resolutions.

Join those with forethought and an effective vision for an action-based personal future. Only about four percent of people use written resolutions or goals.

Good health is essential to a rich life in each New Year. Remember and dedicate yourself to writing down your goals for the next year. Doing so places you in the four percent of people, who by writing down their goals, move on to achieve incredible success as compared to the ninety-six percent of people who don't.

Anchor in your mind what success research has shown: if you write down your resolutions, chances are good that you will complete 80% of your written goals by the end of the year. Just imagine how it feels knowing that you will be 4,000 times more likely to complete your goals than people who never took the time to write anything down.

After you finish reading this letter, be sure to remind yourself that the chances of achieving, sustaining and maintaining good health goals are greater than ever. For example, cutting-edge research has shown a new pathway leading to dramatic reductions in the risks of developing breast cancer. A 2003 research study (published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute by Dr. Shumin Zhang and her colleagues at Harvard University) demonstrates how B vitamin supplements were associated with more women staying healthy. In fact, it appears to be really quite simple. If you take the right amount of B vitamins you are more likely to stay healthy. Isn't that far better than having to figure out more effective ways to help combat heart disease, dementia, depression, stroke, and (?).

B vitamins are essential for the biochemical process called methylation.

Using these vitamins may give you the key to achieving freedom from the gnawing fear of developing breast cancer, heart disease, dementia, depression, stroke, and (?).

Alcohol consumption increases your risk of developing breast cancer. Put another way, alcohol reduces your chances for staying healthy. Pay close attention to how taking supplemental folate devastates this risk for women who had one or more alcoholic drinks a day. Among the nurses in the Harvard study who took at least a hefty dose of 400 micrograms of folate daily, they cut down their risk of breast cancer by a whopping eight-nine percent compared to drinkers who didn't take hefty doses of folate.

In our stay healthy perspective what must we conclude? Women who drink alcohol stay healthier when they take at least 400 micrograms of folate daily. Those who don't are much more likely to develop health problems, such as breast cancer.

Taking folate was also associated with a reduction of breast cancer risk among both pre-menopausal and post-menopausal women in this study. Premenopausal women also enjoyed a 54% reduction in this risk if they took supplemental Vitamin B-12.

Keeping in mind that Vitamin B-12 cut the risk in half for pre-menopausal women; imagine how important this "stay healthy" discovery is for women who are in the prime of their lives. Then, imagine how important it is for their families, friends, and everyone they know! Once you have this picture in mind, you can see why we sent out the post cards, and why we want to share these incredible "stay healthy" ideas with you.

Bear in mind that the benefits of vitamins are not only limited to insuring the chances for good health in this manner. Time and time again, research has demonstrated how pregnant women benefit from supplementation. Supplements help produce healthier babies and fewer birth defects.

Vitamins are necessary for normal growth and development, and inadequate supplies of vitamins in the diet lead to birth defects. Folate has reduced the chances that you will have a baby with spina bifida. Spina bifida was a common and potentially crippling birth defect not too long ago.

In the 1960's, scientists discovered that folate reduced the occurrence of spina bifida, but some others contested their discovery. Recent research confirmed that these scientists were correct in their observations of the benefits of folate. This discovery led American food manufacturers to fortify food products with folate. Now, there is even suggestion that folate supplementation may cut down on leukemia and Down's syndrome.

All of these discoveries and others became possible in 1973 when the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) permitted the introduction of more than 100 micrograms of folate into supplements.

Fewer children are now born with this potentially crippling birth defect as a result of widespread and systematic folate supplementation. This is a dramatic "stay healthy" solution!

Folate and Vitamin B-12 supplementation may also be important nutritional support for people faced with developing depression, Alzheimer's disease, and heart disease. Nearly, one-third of people who suffer from depression are deficient in folate or Vitamin B-12. Not surprisingly, about the same numbers of people fail to respond to antidepressant medication. Some of these people may simply need supplementation to feel better.

Homocysteine is a blood marker for heart disease and stroke. In fact, research has suggested that it could be a better marker than cholesterol. People with lower homocysteine levels were more heart healthy than those with elevated blood levels.

The only way to know if your supplement regimen is working is to measure homocysteine levels. We know homocysteine levels respond to supplementation with Premium Brain Support™. A failure to lower the homocysteine level simply means that you need to take more to bring the level down. Some people find that when they increase their daily intake from two to four capsules their homocysteine level falls.

Bear in mind, research has demonstrated that the use of a conventional daily multivitamin may produce only minimal effects on homocysteine or Vitamin B-12 blood levels.

Homocysteine is not a nasty villain produced by the body but rather a normal by-product of methylation reactions in your body. 5-methyl-tetrahydrofolate and methylcobalamin are coenzyme active B vitamins that are essential for the production of SAMe (S-adenosylmethionine) from the amino acid methionine. SAMe is a primary methyl donor for many of the body's chemical reactions.

Adequate intake of folate and Vitamin B-12 ensure that your body can manufacture enough SAMe to meet your daily needs. If you take SAMe as a supplement, it may be very expensive, and of variable quality. We know people who were paying $400 to $600 a month before we made our products available. They also were getting bad results. That changed when they started using Premium Brain Support™. More importantly, when SAMe is metabolized, your body is left with its toxic byproduct homocysteine. Ordinarily you regenerate SAMe with the help of the B vitamins about three times a day.

Did you ever wonder how you can sustain the work of your muscles, the pumping of your heart and the non-stop activity of your brain?

Methyl donation drives the energy systems of your body in the most remarkable way. As the result of an amazing methyl reaction, your body produces creatine phosphate. Creatine phosphate works to quickly regenerate adenosine triphosphate (ATP). Without high energy ATP, forget about using your muscles, pumping your heart and fueling the mental muscles of your brain. Creatine phosphate serves as a special energy bank for your body's cells.

Some athletes take creatine as a supplement. It's believed that taking creatine boosts athletic performance by increasing the ability to regenerate ATP during sporting contests. Taking it, however, shuts off the enzyme enabling you to make more creatine naturally.

When you stop taking creatine, your body is in for a shock. Its methyl machinery must come back on line so you can resume naturally manufacturing more creatine and turning it into high energy creatine phosphate. Folate and Vitamin B-12 must supply the necessary SAMe to drive creatine production naturally.

Each day creatine is eliminated from your body in the form of creatinine. As a result, your body must make more creatine every day in order to keep its energy bank primed and operating.

Everyone should be aware of an important risk when using folate supplements. Taking folic acid can mask a Vitamin B-12 deficiency. A special kind of anemia tips off doctors to the possibility of a Vitamin B-12 or folate deficiency (megaloblastic anemia).

With deficiencies of Vitamin B-12 and folate, the red blood cells are larger than usual. Taking extra folate can return them to normal size, even when someone has Vitamin B-12 deficiency. If a Vitamin B-12 deficiency goes unnoticed and untreated, parts of the brain and spinal cord degenerate causing dementia and problems walking.

Taking coenzyme Vitamin B-12 is the best way to play it safe.

The folates found in most foods and supplements are NOT necessarily well-used by everyone's enzymes. Many people have an enzyme that does not readily metabolize dietary folates (MTHFR - short for methylene tetrahydrofolate reductase). Scientific studies have found this low-activity enzyme in between 25 and 50% of the people tested. Keep in mind that's why Premium Brain Support™ now contains 5-methyl-tetrahydrofolate, which gives a vastly superior guarantee of maximum benefit to the most people.

Low activity MTHFR enzyme may be linked to why some people fail to benefit from taking a folic acid supplement and go on to experience a number of different health problems.

Taking vitamin supplements helps you stay healthy and also reduces the risks associated with disease and aging. It is wise to take vitamins that your body can readily absorb and easily use. It helps to visualize 5-methyl-tetrahydrofolate and methylcobalamin as your key vitamin partners.

The recommended daily allowance is an AVERAGE amount of vitamin that will prevent an AVERAGE person from developing a vitamin deficiency if they take that much of a vitamin every day. These daily doses help prevent a vitamin deficiency:

  • if all the vitamin is absorbed,
if all the vitamin is changed into the bioactive form of the vitamin in the body,
if the amount is appropriate for a person's size and metabolism,
  • if you aren't taking medications that increase demand or interfere in some way.

Stress, illness, and medications change the amount of vitamins that a person needs to take. If you take oral contraceptives, sulfa antibiotics, or a number of other medications, you need more bioactive folates.

Pregnancy increases a woman's need for folate. The baby has first "rights" when it comes to the folates. The developing baby has miraculous abilities to capture folate from its mother's bloodstream.

In some parts of the world birth defects like spina bifida are more common. Worldwide about one out of every three pregnant women have a folate deficiency. By the end of the pregnancy, that deficiency is even more severe. If folate consumption doesn't dramatically increase, health risks increase.

What form of folate is used in medical treatment?

Leucovarin is folinic acid (folinate). For reasons outlined above, our body absorbs and uses folinate (folinic acid) far more readily than folate (generally equated with the synthetic folic acid used in most supplements and fortified foods), the form typically found in most vitamin supplements. Folinate can be biotransformed into 5-methyl-tetrahydrofolate. It also plays a role in DNA synthesis. 5-methyl-tetrahydrofolate also "primes" this key folinate pump required for operating the biochemicals required by your genetic machinery.

What kind of Vitamin B-12 does the body use?

Like folate, Vitamin B-12 is a vitamin family. Methylcobalamin is the primary coenzyme form of Vitamin B-12 used by our body. Cyanocobalamin, the form of Vitamin B-12 found in most vitamin supplements, must go through a number of biochemical reactions before becoming methylcobalamin.

Another form of Vitamin B-12 found in our body, hydroxycobalamin, is changed into the coenzymes methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin.

Methylcobalamin moves from the blood into the soupy contents of the cell (cytosol). Through chemical reactions also involving 5-methyl-tetrahydrofolate, it helps add a methyl group to compounds such as homocysteine. Build-up of homocysteine damages cells. It's no surprise that elevated homocysteine blood levels are associated with dementia, depression and heart disease. Surprisingly, however, elevated homocysteine blood levels are NOT linked to breast cancer.

Many other chemicals found in the body need a methyl group attached to them. Many of the chemicals found in the brain and glands undergo methylation reactions. Is it any surprise then that shortages of bioactive folates and Vitamin B-12 cause problems with mood and memory? Giving a new mother extra folate can sometimes pull her out of what was first thought to be the "baby blues;" and perhaps, also post-partum depression.

Adenosylcobalamin is found inside your cell's mitochondria. It helps rearrange key molecules needed to create the building blocks of our cells and also plays an important role in how our body uses fats and sugar for energy.

With Vitamin B-12 deficiency, one of these chemicals (methylmalonic acid) becomes elevated in the blood and larger amounts appear in the urine. Correcting the Vitamin B-12 deficiency returns these levels to normal.

What form of these vitamins do we use and recommend?

We recommend that adults take at least 400 mg. of folate daily, preferably as 5-methyl-tetrahydrofolate, to go beyond the kind of benefits seen in the Harvard nurses' study. We recommend that you hedge your bets by using 5-methyl-tetrahydrofolate, just in case you have the low activity form of the MTHFR enzyme and, therefore cannot metabolize the folates found in food or most supplements.

We recommend taking 500 to 1000 micrograms/day of high quality bioactive methylcobalamin. Most of the Vitamin B-12 transported through the body is methylcobalamin. The body makes adenosylcobalamin inside the mitochondria. Unless you have a rare genetic condition, you can readily make all of the necessary adenosylcobalamin inside your mitochondria.

Is it hard to find supplements with these high quality vitamins?

Yes, it was very hard to find them! We searched the world over and failed to find supplements that met all of our criteria. So, rather than throwing up our hands in frustration, we went to work and created Premium Brain Support™. It's a product designed to help meet your brain's nutritional needs. And by now, you can imagine how Premium Brain Support™ might help you stay healthy and enhance your performance. You may be amazed by how well you feel after taking Premium Brain Support™. Some customers simply won't go without it. They have tested themselves by running out and seeing what happens when they don't take it. They quickly notice negative changes in their mental clarity, energy, and enthusiasm.

Why is there no Vitamin B-6 in Brain Support?

Quite simply, many people take too much Vitamin B-6 (pyridoxine). About 40% of American women take too much in an attempt to alter mood and relieve premenstrual problems. Some have even taken it to relieve hot flashes. ( We have observed hot flashes actually increase if you keep increasing the dose!) Beware: If you take more than 200 mg. of pyridoxine it can cause liver damage and peripheral neuropathy. With pyridoxal phosphate you can eliminate these risks and still get the benefits of Vitamin B-6.

What's the best way to fend off depression, dementia, heart disease, breast cancer, and (?).

Your best approach is to live a healthy lifestyle and take cutting-edge supplements. Changing your lifestyle often produces about a 10 to 20% improvement. That's small compared to the 54% and 89% difference you might see if you use Vitamin B-12 and folate (as was shown in the Harvard breast cancer study).

What are the benefits of adopting a successful "stay healthy" strategy?

You stay healthy! With a successful "stay healthy" strategy "nothing happens," and because "nothing happens" many people don't stick with a "stay healthy" strategy. Then, bad things start happening, and before long they may need the best medical strategies and doctors to diagnose, treat, cure, and prevent disease and illness! Never forget: There's nothing bad to overcome if you're healthy.

Change your mindset and enjoy the benefits of a "stay healthy" strategy. When? There's no better time to start than right now. Imagine how wonderful it can be entering the new year with a fresh new mindset, taking advantage of the benefits of cutting edge, scientific, health breakthroughs. There are obvious risks in hesitating to start a "stay healthy" strategy, and most of them carry huge price tags.

Don't be among the 96% who don't write down their goals! Write them down RIGHT NOW. Seize this opportunity to begin experiencing the breakthrough benefits of a powerful "stay healthy" strategy.
